The remains of the 13 Makin Island Raiders Marines, who lost their
lives in World War II, await final committal for burial. Sgt Clyde
Thomason, the first Marine Medal of Honor Recipient, is among those
interred. The ceremony was held on Aug. 17, 2001 in Arlington National
Cemetery.
