VETERANS DAY OBSERVANCE AT ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY

 

WHAT:           National Veterans Day Observance 2008 at Arlington National Cemetery

 

WHEN:          Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m.

 

WHERE:       Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. 

 

EVENT DETAILS:  

      • Ceremonies include a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns, followed by the observance program at Memorial Amphitheater. (Media must choose between the two locations.)
      • The National Veterans Day Observance will commence with a prelude concert by the U.S Navy Band at 10:30 a.m. inside the amphitheater.
      • Both ceremonies are free and open to the public. No tickets are required to attend this event.
      • At 8 a.m., the cemetery gates open and a free shuttle service will transport cemetery guests from the Visitors Center to the amphitheater. 
      • Free media parking is available at the Visitors Center parking lot until 1 p.m.

                                    Pre-cabling will occur on Monday, Nov. 10 from 8 a.m. to noon. Please call Kaitlin Horst, Arlington National Cemetery Public Affairs at (703) 607-8576 no later than noon Friday, Nov. 7 to schedule an appointment.
